It's the classic way to say "That's enough" in French, you can use it in most situations but it can be perceived as "bossy" because it's an order.
If someone around you is doing something annoying and you want this person to stop, you can say: "Ça suffit" (It's enough). To insist on the emergency, you can use instead: "Arrête tout de suite" (Stop it right now)
Finally, for informal contexts, you can also use "Arrête ton cirque" (Stop your circus) or even "Arrête tes conneries" (Stop you bullshit). Beware, the last one is very familiar and might be perceived as aggressive.
